Freedom Rising: The Dying Time Book 3 (The Dying Time Trilogy)

About

Civilization crumbled when asteroid Havoc hit the Earth. Power failed, billions died, fires and earthquakes shook the world.

Twelve years later came the rise of a king from the ruins of California. In Colorado, the Freeholds, a band of survivors trying to create a peaceful world from the ruins of the old, fought the king and won a tentative peace.

Now, two years later, the disaster looms again. The king is back, set on destroying the Freeholds, a second asteroid—Havoc’s Twin—threatens to destroy what’s left of the world, and a courageous woman makes a desperate gamble to save everything.

As the king assembles his forces, the Freehold undertakes a bold plan. Can a small band of fighters succeed against an army? Or will Havoc’s Twin snuff out the fragile remains of humanity?

Thousands of five-star reviewers loved for the first two books, and the final battle promises even greater action and surprises.

You won’t want to miss the earth-shattering conclusion as Freedom Rising finishes the epic saga begun in The Dying Time: Impact.

And here is what a few readers are saying about this series:

Loved the first book and ordered this one as soon as I finished it. The plot is complex and yet it’s never confusing. Both male and female characters are written with strength and believability that is rare nowadays. The action NEVER stops! I will definitely be on the waiting list for the final book and I hope it won’t be too long a wait! Fascinating, action-packed tale that never resorts to tired plot strategies!

If you thought the first book in the series was great then this one will completely blow you away! Don’t expect any relaxing moments in ‘After the Dying Time’ because the action doesn’t let up for a second. This book is packed with one ‘rabbit pulled out of a hat’ after another, and sometimes several occur simultaneously. Whew! Raymond White can really write some fantastic stuff. Unlike many books of this type, this series offers realism. Not everyone you’re rooting for will survive and not every plan avoids being thwarted. You will also learn a lot about military tactics in this story. Without a doubt, this series is one of the best in the genre and I can’t wait to read the next book.

R D White’s first offering in The Dying Time trilogy, ‘Impact’, hits the mark bang on. White plays out the plot & character introduction slowly & carefully, even adding a character summary at the back of the novel for quick reference. (Why don’t more authors do this?) The central character, Micheal Whitebear, is on par with other similar protagonists in this genre, ie: Lee Harden (The Remaining) & Bishop (Holding Their Own ) With ‘Impact’, White is vaulted into the upper ranks of survival authors such as D J Molles, Joe Nobody & others. Another well thought out addition is the product, site & publication appendix, in the novel, making it a go-to reference source. I’ll be picking up book #2 ‘After The Dying Time’ asap. It’s that good.
